Dakota Prairie Composting Celebrates Grand Opening
Greystone is proud to have played a role in the new Dakota Prairie Composting facility, the new large-scale organics recycling facility developed by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC).
Our Fabric Division team relocated and repurposed an existing fabric structure we originally built for SMSC years ago, re-installing it as two separate fabric buildings: a 100'x160' storage building and a 100'x144' tipping building. It’s a great example of the sustainability and long-term value of the fabric buildings we construct.
Dakota Prairie Composting is now one of the most advanced composting facilities in the Midwest, with the capacity to process more than 155,000 tons of organic material annually—helping Minnesota reduce landfill waste and reach its 75% recycling goal by 2030.
We were honored to attend the ribbon cutting and celebrate this milestone alongside SMSC, project partners, and community leaders.
Thank you to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community for partnering with Greystone and allowing us to play a role in bringing this vision to life.
