Shakopee Energy Park
The Shakopee Energy Park (SEP) is a 46-megawatt natural gas power generation facility designed to provide reliable, locally generated energy to the community of Shakopee and other member communities served by the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA). The facility utilizes fuel-efficient reciprocating engine technology to deliver dependable peaking power during periods of high energy demand while supporting overall grid reliability.
Greystone Construction partnered on the development of this important energy infrastructure project, helping deliver a facility designed for long-term operational performance and efficiency. In addition to strengthening local power reliability, SEP provides strategic benefits including reduced reliance on high-voltage transmission systems, improved energy resiliency, and support for continued economic and business growth within the region.
