The Rahr Corporate Office Expansion construction project is a two-story building with Class A finishes designed by KOMA. The updated space functions well and is reflective of the company’s deep-rooted values and history. The project was complicated by an extremely tight site with active railways located immediately north and south.

High Degree of Difficulty
The Rahr Corporate Office Expansion project presented a number of challenges including constrained site, active railways flanking the north and south sides of the site, truck traffic, shallow bedrock elevation, major utilities running through the construction site, shared employee/construction site entrance, required asbestos abatement, salvaging old brick for reuse, and more.

All building materials and finishes needed to be of the highest quality – there was no compromising cost when it came to matching finishes of the historic office building. We salvaged original brick from the south building during demolition which was later used in Rahr’s new office lobby and bierstube.
