The Koda Energy fuel delivery system project was a fast-track, general construction opportunity unique in nature because it was the result of an emergency plant shutdown due to an explosion. The project required the perfect combination of efficient construction, improved safety features, process redundancy and additional fire protection. Greystone’s own tradesmen performed the metal building installation. The resulting fuel delivery system was constructed in less than 4 months and is capable of feeding biomass material at 12,000 cubic feet/hour.
Greystone Construction has partnered with Great River Energy (GRE) for more than 15 years on a wide range of projects that supports the reliable and safe operation of their waste-to-energy and resource recovery facilities. In the last 5 years, our collaboration has included projects of all sizes, from facility service work and tipping curb and floor repairs to pump house improvements and other critical maintenance efforts. In addition to service and repair projects, Greystone has delivered larger-scale construction solutions for GRE, including multiple pre-engineered metal buildings for shop buildings, dry storage, and ash storage loadout facilities.
Our construction timeline was very aggressive...yet the project hit this milestone due to creative scheduling by Greystone. They made sure that no time or opportunity for progress was lost throughout the project duration. Greystone demonstrated acute attention to detail throughout the construction process and went above and beyond with the detail on the final punch list.

We were proud to join Dem-Con and Kanadevia Inova for the groundbreaking of their Anaerobic Digester Project—an important step forward for sustainable waste management in our region.
When complete in 2027, residents’ food scraps and organics from metro-area counties will be sent to this facility to be turned into energy instead of waste. The anaerobic digester will process 75,000 tons per year of organics that would have otherwise gone to a landfill, producing renewable natural gas (RNG) and biochar through a unique public/private partnership.
Greystone was honored to join the New Prague city officials and project partners to celebrate the groundbreaking of the New Prague West Energy Station.
Once complete, the facility will provide the City of New Prague with the ability to generate power locally when the grid goes down, helping ensure reliable electricity for residents, businesses, and essential services. Projects like this strengthen community infrastructure and help secure New Prague’s energy future for years to come.
